You see a scene, bang off a couple of shots, get home, upload and then think, actually that looks crap..

Annoying...

Something I thought would look good. :(

Might be good for one thing if I can manage to make it 20kb without losing ALL the quality.

I'm so crap with Photoshop...

here's a take on it..

I had it all vivid n stuff but I played around with the layer blending options and messed it all up :)

As said I was playing with fill light / vibrance / clarity etc..

That's the slider on the save box all the way down to 0  the crop wasn't far off 400 x75 to start with either (think it was 513 or something) How the hell do you get it to 20kb. :o

You could try the old "just turn it black and white" trick that seems to make any number of dodgy colour pics magically look more artistic and gritty.

i get this all the time, i see something and think "that would make a nice picture" get home and have a look at it on the monitor and im a bit dissapointed.

any who, had a play with yours. just did a levels adjustment, converted to black and white then brought the colours back through. gave it a very slight poster edge in some parts and a smart sharpen.

JPEG, 60 quality. 12.5kb

Easy!

:o:o

Will try that after tea then. Cheers.

Cheers for "having a go at it" too Famas..

One thing I must ask and I should have done this before I started getting more involved in photography... but how do I calibrate this monitor properly! (early dell 2407)

Famas' pic seems very "washed out" here. :/

I would be more interested in going back and recomposing: maybe one with the camera very close to the wall, and maybe one with it more perpendicular. Different heights too

Slight problem with that, it was in Falmouth and I live in Cheltenham :D
