Hi Guys. First off i'd like to say Hi. I've been reading this forum for a long time, but have only just got hold of a useable email to register :D

Now for the main point of my post.

I've decided it's time to add a decent sound system to my room. I have a 32" Samsung HDTV (forget the model), a PS3, 360, Wii, PC and Sky. Would like to hook them all up to an amp and have a couple of floor standing speakers, 2.0 is plenty as my room is fairly small.

I'm new to the hi-fi scene and have absolutely no idea what to look for when it comes to an amp. The main problem I'm having is the inputs. Five different things to be plugged into it, but I just don't know what connections they use. Any advice on this or a suggestion for a suitable amp would be great.

I am looking towards a low-mid budget for the amp, and will most likely be using a particular auction site.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

[EDIT] Oh and also, I currently have an old SB Audigy 2 in my PC, and I assume I'll be needing an upgrade for that. Any suggestions?

You are in need of a stereo amp looks like and a couple of floorstanders.

How much are you wanting to spend?

BTW there is no need to upgrade the sound card, you can use a 3.5mm to 2xRCA cable to connect to the inputs on the amp.

Not Really got a budget as such, but I guess >£100 for an amp would be about right, speakers I don't have an idea about yet, depends how much i spend on an amp :P

So how do I got about connecting stuff to an amp? I know that there are the 2 jacks for each seperate input source. But for say my PS3, which is connected to TV via HDMI, how would I plug that into the amp? and for Wii/360 which is component AV?, what cables are needed?

Youd attach it with the standard RF cable that comes with the PS3 and run it conjuctively with the HDMI, its just a setting in the sound setup of the PS3.
