We have a BT 2091 at home for wireless internet, and i havebeen using that on my old XP Home for a while. At uni i also installed XP Pro. When i got back home i had to roconnect to the hub with my new OS, but i cant seem to find the WEP code. I have looked around some sites, and they say that sometimes the WEP codee is written on the router, but not in this case. I have it on my XP Home, but no way i know of for getting that code. Anybody know the way you get the WEP code?

Can you not hard-reset the router, removing all the settings and restoring factory defaults and then start from there?

if it's not on the bottom of the router then you'll have to temporarily connect via ethernet to get it. tis the only way. :)

edited to remove nonsense... :p

If, as you say, the XP Home machine can connect already then there is (or used to be) a tool for extracting the code called WepKeyCapture or WepKeyGotcha. The site that hosted it is no more, but you might have some luck finding the utility.

If that fails, you can crack WEP in under 5 minutes - it's barely worth having enabled.
