Trying to restore my CPU overclock.

Seems high imo,should be late 30's/low 40's

Only way to improve idle temps is to switch from fixed CPU v to normal CPU v and dvid

How much is CPU voltage in windows?

In windows in CPU-z

This may be easier

Mal, we have the exact same CPU and both trying to get ours working. I guess I'll stay post in here for a bit to see if we can get something working, lol.

In the BIOS you can try normal CPU voltage and try +0.0500v dvid or thereabouts

Then see what CPU voltage is in CPU-z while stressing CPU

Ocuk profile will probably have all the powersaving disabled,so enable eist

I think when i tried to change the dvid last time, it had an X on it and it was greyed out.

Also is the CPU voltage the "Core voltage" in CPU-Z? (Above, 1.328)

Yh

I said you first have to set CPU voltage to normal, this unlocks dvid for adjustment

It all sounds complicated but its simple once you know how

That error is memory related, not enough qpi/vtt

Wazza, i cleaned out my fan... you should have seen the dust. It amounted to about a fist full.

My temps are now at 37-40 idle, and at 100% load they were 70-75. When playing Dragon age inquisition they never went above 70.

That all sound good?

Sounds spot on. When was the last time you cleaned your fan? You should make a habit of doing a clean out once every 6 months at the least just to keep it ticking along nicely at good temps. More if it's in a particularly dusty environment or if you keep your machine on a carpeted floor. I keep my machine on the floor, which is carpet, but it's on a bit of wood too so it's not sucking dust up from the carpet into the PSU fan.

i cleaned it about 6 months ago, but not the part of the fan i did last night because i didnt even thinking of looking behind the fans. there was a giant wall of solid dust.

i actually dont know where the dust comes from.. i have a wooden floor and vaccuum my room every week.

Thanks for all your guys help. and you did it all for free! Im very grateful.

also, one of the main reasons i overclocked my cpu again is to buy a new gpu. now that im at 3.9, what kind of choices do i have in the range of £150-£200? i have a 500w psu
