I'm trying to spec myself a new dual purpose laptop and I'd like to hear some of your views.

Do I go for the, a) Intel i3 -2310M (2.10Ghz) with 3072MB DDR3 and Geforce GT525M graphics card setup, or b) Intel i5 2410M (2.3Ghz) with 4096MB DDR3 and a Intel HD 3000 graphics card.

I would be using it for a small amount of photo / video editing, and maybe a limited amount of gaming when my main gaming rig is out of action. I've also never been a fan of Intel graphics cards in the pasts but they've probably came a long way since I last bought a laptop 3 years ago.

Any advice welcome.;)

^^ as above, although the integrated HD graphics are adequate for productivity (Adobe CS, AutoCAD, office & presentations) it is not as good as a dedicated solution.

Even better if you have switchable graphics as this really saves on battery life.
