Ok here is my problem, I'm trying to use a head set for msn for webcam chats right.

I want my music to be played through my sound system and for voice to go through my head set.

After trying to use seperate channels on my sound card (failed btw) I remebered that I had on-board sound that I disabled in device manager.

So I enabled it and set it up for my head set. Problem is, the microphone is too damn quiet on the on board sound. I've turned up the volume in device manger to full, aswell as msn but I can't get a reasonably decent microphone pickup, like I do on my Audigy.

The onboard sound is some realtek crap, I have the drivers installed (latest I think but I'm going to check on that). Is there anything you can think off to why my microphone on my second sound card is so quiet?

Cheers all.

If you need anymore info just tell me, cheers. Oh and I think this is the rright section because it's msn related but I don't know. Maybe it belows in the sound section, if mods feel the need to move it over there, pelase do. I'm not going to post this is two sections.

Lol, ok. I suppose I am stupid. I've gone and split the wires, pulgging my speakers into my dedicated sound card. Pluggin the mirophone jack into my dedicated sound card and pluggin my headset speaker into the onboard sound. I think this will work.

Suppose this thread is redundant then. Sorry about that.

It should work, I do it that way. It's a good idea because you can have your communications going though one soundcard whilst keeping the other free for normal sound. It's like having a USB headset or VoIP phone.
