as above, is it worth changing the fan. as these seem to be pretty good.

is there a similar 120mm x 25mm fan with the same performance but quiter? that is also speed controlable (pwm i think)

or has anyone ever done a push/pull mod to a tuniq tower?

edit. its hard to find the fan specs anywhere, but i found these

RPM: 1000~2000 RPM
Air Flow: 90.65 CFM (Max)
Noise Level: 16~20 +/- 10%dBA
Size: 120 x 120 x 25mm

the apache has no where near enough airflow. the viper would be more comparable but isn't much quieter then the tuniq's fan.

you could try a scythe gentle typhoon 1850 rpm, that is what i will be replacing the viper on my zalman with when i can be bothered opening up my case.

thanks for answers, i have been looking around,

i just realised, that a pwm fan will do, i can have it turned low for everyday running, and up high for stability testing, etc...

afaik the main things i need to look out for are cfm, pressure and dba

edit. i might just leave in the stock fan, and try to do that mod push/pull job in first post

The default fan is the best and adding two to either side is some form of mod would only probably gain you -1c it's not designed to benefit from that.

There are fans out there that might have higher static pressure but i doubt many do maybe a scythe 9 bladed slipstream might not sure.

having a quick look around, you seem to be right.
will have a think about that mod.
i was thinking of adding 1 fan to push air into the TT and the stock fan to push air out

Wont change much mate I tried a lot of that sort of thing with mine.

But I only tried with akasa ambers and yate loons something beefier with higher static pressure might do something.
To be fair though I never tried any so called high pressure fans so something like the Noctua NF-P12 Vortex-Control could well be better for all I know.

I just know that adding an additional fan at the front cable tied on didn't do diddly.

But I wouldn't go throwing money at anything.

Better off selling it and getting a thermalright archon which can be had for £46 delivered.
