Tuniq Tower - System won't post

Could possibly be that the board has a weak spot, i have the ds4 and had a Big typhoon hanging on it for over a year no problem, now have a ultima 90i and thats doing just fine.

It probably is that the heatsink/mounting is putting too much pressure/weight on the board around the cpu socket causing a small fracture in a track or a joint, as someone else suggested have you tried laying the case on it's side when it wont boot?

i have an old skt 478 here that wont boot if the hsf is clamped down ( well it will with a wadge of card behind the cpu socket :o) and a 775 board which wont boot with the stock intel clamped but loosen it off and its fine but none of these use backplates.

I'm not sure how heavy the Tuniq is but an AC7 isn't heavy enough to strain **** :D

I actually came into the OC & Cooling section with the intention of asking for personal experiences to help me decide whether I should order an AC7 or TT for my new system, this thread has sealed the deal: AC7 ***.

To the OP: sorry to hear about your problems, I hope you get them sorted soon!

Sonic dont buy the AC7 I had problems with mine and now have TT, couldnt recommend it enough

sonic: Buy the TT, it's an excellent cooler. I think these guys just had a spot of bad luck :(

Just when I thought my choice had been made simple lol.

I guess I'll go with the TT then. I have a TRUE-120 on my current system and it was a real pain in the neck to install so I was hoping to avoid a similar struggle with my new system by getting a pushpin cooler like the AC7. If the TT is signifacantly better though then I'll go with it. Ordering the system on friday when the EVGA 8800GTX's should (hopefully) be in stock so I have a couple more days to mull it over. Thanks for the advice guys!

GTX nice. That was a tad over my budget lol. I'm not really much of a gamer any more though. 3 years of CS will do that to you lol.

put tt in a pc I built for someone nice cooler PITA fitting though/refitting for best mount as its a board out job but it does *** job fine.

I did try lying my system on it's side yes. The ONLY way to get the system to Post again is to remove and refit the tuniq completely.

I've given up with it anyway and am back onto my old F7 Pro. At least this one works properly in my system. I can't justify spending £35 on a cooler and then having to spend another £80 on a new Board just so I can use that new cooler. Id rather spend that money on a Q6600..

Which way was the mobo bending when the cooler was fitted? When mounted was it bending the board away from the tray or towards the tray? You could also have tried slacking of the mounting screws buy a quarter or half of a turn to see if it made things better.
