I went when I was 12 and I really enjoyed it. I can't remember the name of the hotel but it was in Monastir. I went in the middle of summer and it was really hot, in the high thirties. I did allsorts while I was there including laying about in the sun, going on trips into the city as well as trips to some of the locations where Star Wars was filmed.

I found it is a really interesting place and certainly a lot different from the UK, so I hope you have fun.

Watch out for the Jelly Fish in the sea.

Just a few questions then What are prices like for things over there? such as meals etc and in the town are there many restaurants to eat out at night? Around the town are the majority of individuals able to speak english or could there be some difficulties there? and finally are there a few bars about just to have a quiet drink in at night?

As you can guess I really arent too sure of what to expect of the place

Went to tunisia a couple of years ago, also stayed in port el Kantaoui and have to say it was the worst holiday ever.
There is nothing to do in the main resort, and basically you are hotel bound. With it being a muslim country, there is very little alcohol and the beer is warm. You can take day trips out to places like el jem etc which fills the time in but Tunisia is not a holiday that comes recommended

I'll agree with that but our hotel and beach was that good you didn't need to leave it. We went for walks every day and I did a 6 mile run every morning.
The entertainment in the hotel did get very samey. The main port is full of restaurants which is a 10/15 min walk from your hotel. Taxis are very cheap

There is plenty of alcohol and if I remember right your hotel is near to an Off License. There is also alcohol in the hotels but don't expect to get drunk on it because its that watered down. Go to the bars like The English Bar and you'll stagger home drunk like I did a few times after watching the footie.
