Clio's n Supras drive very differently.
I drive an MR2 turbo which I guess is in a similar vein to a Supra, and my girlfriend has a 16V Clio and despite having only half the horsepower of mine I actually prefer driving it more than my own in some ways.
The MR2 is a violent kind of power and you need to be a much more skilled driver to throw it round the corners whereas the Clio is more smooth and easier to chuck around. When it's wet I tend to back off a bit in my car whereas I can drive just as fast in hers, oversteer in a Clio is a damn sight easier to control than oversteer in an MR2, trust me!! (it's not like Gran Turismo)
I'd imagine that if you could have the best of both worlds you'd have the power of the MR2 with the chuckability of the Clio, hence the Clio turbo for £7k.
I do know what you mean though, personally I wouldn't spend £7k on a £2k Clio cos it'd still be worth £2k at the end of the day.
