Hi there,

Just been wondering about a function on my motherboard. Well a switch to be precise that is called "Turbo Key II" and is it known to be ok/safe to use?

Basically it overclocks my CPU slightly and it's Turbo mode even more so. Also overclocks my memory as well.

Specs of my system are:

i7 2600 (Non K) Running at a constant 3.5GHz and see cores go up to 4.6GHz at times (Via Turbo of course. And i know this is only on one core. Not all :)).
Asus P8H67
Corsair Dominator 1333MHz. Running at 1373MHz with Turbo Key II enabled.
GTX 560Ti
Corsair TX850W PSU
And a Arctic Freezer i30 on the CPU running idle at 28 Degrees C. And never goes above 50 under full load.
CPU-z reports CPU @ 1.008V and Memory @ 1.5V.

Also i have noticed the Turbo Key II ups my FSB to 103.00MHz.

So yea. Is it safe to use and/or are there any known issue's with it that have been reported? I have had it running for a couple of weeks like this and everything is spot on. I'm just curious that's all :)

Thanks for any information and feedback.

Its just easy overclocking for people who are scared of the bios/don't know how to use the bios.

if you have already achieved a max stable overclock there is nothing to be gained from it.

Well seeing as i can't really overclock a non-K CPU, then this is why i ask :)

I have overclocked in the past with my Q6600 with ease and sort of know what I am doing but never been a fan of letting the system be in control. I prefer to do things manually. i.e. Voltages.

But as stated it is a Non-K 2600 and a non overclocking H67 motherboard. So i was asking incase anyone had heard of any bad outcome from using such a feature as Turbo Key

If you get 5Mhz more on the front bus consider yourself lucky
I will not use the turbo II on long term but it is useful to see what it gets you

It's ok saying that you wouldn't use it long term but why? I mean if it isn't causing over volting or overheating then is there any need for concern? What possible harm could it do. This is why i am here asking in the first place, because there is no real information about it around the internet.

Thanks :)
