Turbo's ?

answer the question please?
Its already been done.

You can't turn them off and there is no reason to as you have a throttle pedal to control boost

Uhh, why?

With a handful of exceptions, turbochargers only normally tend to work once you hit a certain rpm (2500-3000rpmish for a petrol car), as they need to spin up. That's why you get turbo lag.

I can't think of any time you'd want to have a switched turbocharger. If you want to drive economically, then just use less throttle.

Thats not really true I can be at 6k and have no boost.

even if you could turn it off, the car would be a pain to drive given the lower compression ratio.

answer to problem? don't drive with divers boots on.

I suppose you could, if you really wanted to.....little or no benifit though.

You could switch between 2 intakes - a boosted one to a naturally aspirated one.

I can't see why you'd want to do it though. Anything's possible mind!

i read that completely wrong,lol.
thought you had some type of HOOJ turbo fitted to your car..phew.
I just get the impression they see a Turbo as a on off device. As soon as you hit 3k its OMG Turbo boost. :p

OMG Turbo boost kicked in yo!
