What was the problem? These are supposed to be some of the best drivers in the world; did the wet-weather tyres let them down? Or has the rain been that bad?

New low grip track surface which is still releasing oils (and will be for months).
Cold.
Wet going on to very wet.
 
Not to the point that they were locking wheels in FP1 and not flatspotting the tyres as there was so little grip. Never seen that in the dry before.
 
This surface is insane. Unless it dramatically changes for the race, I think a deeply unlikely winner is on the cards. Leclerc, maybe? Kimi has been really impressive in this kind of conditions, could it happen? I'd love to see Russell go from no points to a race win but that seems deeply unlikely.
