Turn any electrical socket into an internet connection with TP-Link!

If you do a Google search you'll find that TP-Link PL adaptors have long had issues with disconnections and even now the issues haven't been resolved.

I suspect a lot of the reliability issues are down to people using TP-Link adaptors.

I'd assume all power line adapters (regardless of brand) are only as good as the wiring they are running across. Its a limitation of the technology.

Wow, these things have really got fast! Fantastic tech.

I will say that with the BT supplied ones we had, every once in a while (every 3 to 6 months) the connection would just get lost, and you'd have to reset/resync the two units we had. Very odd.

Other than that, they were great, and made life so much simpler. It wasn't my house and running cable was a no go.

i have just had sky adsl fitted (cannot get fibre yet)
so the ports on the router are 10/100mb, so getting these would i notice any difference over this to say the 500mb ones?
also can you plug a 5 port switch into them?

Is there a cheaper version that would do similar? A friend has a lead from his router to his livingroom and it's not an ideal setup. Can't see him coughing up £80 though for this even though it's a good idea. Would this be faster than a wireless setup?

This isn't new tech, surprised at the pricing tbh.

I brought some AV1200 ones this weekend and it has the throughput to get max speed of my broadband now.

The AV500 which im returning , for some reason dropped out of sync and couldnt get it back working even with a rescan from the program that you can install. Hoping these new AV1200 dont drop out :D

I've recently bought some TP-Link Powerline adapters for my new house as WiFi can't reach any of the bedrooms and I've been really impressed.

It wasn't the ones advertised here that I bought (I bought the AV500 WiFi starter kit), but thought I would share my experience in case anyone had reservations about the TP-Link brand like I originally did.

They were pretty easy to setup apart from a few teething issues getting the WiFi clone setting to work, but researching online seemed to lay blame for that on the Virgin Media hub 2.

Getting 60Mbs via WiFi and decent levels of ping too :)
