Turning my webcam into a security camera

How about you just hide the scart lead for the telly? Or you could do the old james bond hair trick on the disc drive.

Who knows, maybe its your mam would wants a quick blast of 360? :p

if i hid it he would without question go through all my cuboards. as he has no respect for anything or anyone but himself.

hair on the disk drive?

and if the 360 stopped working he would probably smack it a couple of times while a disk is spinning inside it

I think William means the good old hair trick when u put a hair across the drive to tell if it opens rather than the good old hair on the lens trick...which is less popular ;)

Can you imagine, he sets his webcam up then sees his mum and bro both going at it on the 360 (dont twist my words people :p )

Not sure if it's still around or any good but I used to use a piece of software called Gotcha.

Use this with a webcam and you can do all sorts, record what’s going on, upload evidence to a web site, play a sound file/run app when movement is detected.

ahhh man.......gross considering my brother is 15 and wieghs atleast 16 stone thats truely discusting

How is it a fire hazard if people are locked out of your room? Your room is the only exit to the house?

Theres a windows XP powertoy called TIMERSHOT which takes pictures every however many seconds you want if you feel the need, then saves them to a directory. That'd take less space than videos, and it hides in the system tray.. I'll give you an example if you want..

edity: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

I'll make a collage

edit: Make sure in advanced options you enable "create a new file for each shot" or similar button, otherwise it just replaces the old file

Keep us updated on this, iwant to see your mums reaction when her little angel is caught red handed. TBH she will probably claim you faked it!

Doesnt Creative have software that does this. I used it once. It starts to record as soon as it detects motion.

Using timershot: Resized with the powertoy mass resizer then pasted into paint shop pro:

afaik it works with any usb webcam.. this is some super cheap thing I got for £2 :p
