Hi all really puzzled by this issue im having at the moment - it appears that my Citrix server has IE ESC enabled on it for some god awful reason and I can't find any way to disable.

I've tried googling around and have found several articles go to Add/Remove Windows Components and uncheck it in there - but its not even installed according to the server. I've also looked in Manage Your Server and when you click on Internet Explorer Enhanced Security it just takes you to a help document telling you what it is and what it does - NOT how to remove it!!!

Checked one of our servers and it's certainly listed under add/remove programs - windows components.
Double click and you should have 2 components - 1 for admin groups, and 1 for all others.

If these are both ticked, but it's still saying it's enabled in IE I'd probably try ticking one of the boxes to install it and see what happens.

That IE ESC has got to be up there with the most pointless software or os feature that I have ever come across. If i can't disable it i just install firefox that solves the problem. But then when you download it will delete the download file. Just so you know, even if you use another browser. Wonderful security feature. So you would be best to download on a client pc and then copy through network.

This! Especially as it blocks downloads from MS's own website

I just install firefox on any server that needs internet access then uninstall it when finished, so much easier!

I've found it in the Add/Remove windows Components part already but it isnt even installed!? Should I try installing and uninstalling it?

Yeh it is very easy to turn off in 2008, but seems to be a nightmare in 2003!
