I thought the Stock Fan on Ninja's was supposed to be pretty good? Any recommendations on an alternative? i got some 120 Akasa ultra quite amber fans in my case, which aren't bad. But i hear the nocturnes are pretty good
The stock fan is pretty good but its not the best you can get. The
Noctua is very good, it should deliver more airflow for the same noise level.
I would expect the stock ninja fan to be better than or about the same as the Akasa amber.
However if you don't mind a higher noise level or you have a fan controller so you can adjust it, i recommend you try a
zalman or a
scythe s-flex 1600rpm, both are capable of low noise levels if you lower the speed (the scythe more so) but they can both deliver a lot more air than the standard ninja fan and the Noctua if you don't mind the extra noise.
Another thing to try is a duct from the ninja to your rear fan, i found this helped my temps. You could also get a better case if your current one doesn't have a top 120mm fan, ducting the ninja to a top 120mm fan is bound to help.
Ducting the front of the ninja to cooler air can help too, you could try ducting it to the front of your case and use something like
a scythe karma bay if you don't already have a grill on the front of your case. This should bring in much cooler air to the heatsink.
