Turok

It depends on how much interest I have in something before hand. I don't dedicated loads of time to everything, now that would be odd.

If your looking at a book or a DVD do you not only look at the text on the back but rather watch/read the dvd/book just in case you may like it?

But you must have known what the subject matter was, when you played the Turok, demo for 5 mins, in the dark cave section, which i agree isnt the best part of the game. perhaps you should have soldierd on?, you never know, the sunlight and lush flora and varied fauna, might have changed your mind?

A few minutes?, how odd, short attention span maybe?,Are you also do that with movies, and music?

???? its a game. its an fps on a console how deep can it be? lol...

for me an fps on a console has to be absolutely stunning to even get over the drag factor (of being an fps on a console)...

If it doesnt pull me in with the atmosphere and gameplay within the 1st 5 minutes then i usually dont play for more than 7.

Depends though....e.g. i gave TUROK demo about 10 - 15 mins. whereas i gave Conflict demo about 30 seconds. (could not BELIEVE the quality of those models dear god..looked like the cut n pasted em from an 8 year old fps to be honest )

BUT with other types of games e.g.

Strategy
Adventure
RTS
Sports
RPG

then i do give them more time to appeal to me.

For me an ACTION game should be making the hardsell to me very very quickly because they dont have a lot of depth tbh.

The demo was awful. Check it out if you get a chance - it'll put any Turok fan off :/

Put me off and im not even a Turok fan:p...might pick it up when its cheap as chips or when theres a games drought...much like for the past month, ive managed to pick up Bulletwitch....utter rubbish i might add and Call of Juarez, which tbh isnt too bad...quite enjoyed it. Picked both up for £15 each so thats kept me going for the past few weeks although completed Call of Juarez...cant be bothered with Bulletwitch. Got Nascar 08 coming tommorrow hopefully, again picked up cheap to keep me going till the good games come out later this month.

yep its ron perlman so the voices are good.

Unsurprisingly enough, the adverts ive been seeing on tv for Turok the graphics look pretty good...

My mate bought it and said it's "not too bad". Dunno whether that's out of shame for buying it at retail or because it's better than he tought :p.
