Hi Guys

Had a meeting today with Turtle Beach.

They have shown me their gaming range and I have introduced them to how our community works as well as spending some time familiarising them with how gaming peripherals sell through us.

They are very keen to find out facts and learn our market before working with us. Something I really like.

I would really appreciate some feedback from you guys on their offerings currently. Be honest and try to stay subjective. include your likes and dislikes and reasoning behind it.

Turtle Beach P11 Headset, DSS processor, XP500 Headset

Keyboard: Enermax Acrylux, Mouse: Roccat Kone (nice shape) / Logitech G500s (bought to replace an mx518, don't like it so much)

2. What do you think of the TB range as a whole?

Overall they were feature rich, good value for money and didn't look too over the top

3. What do you specifically like about the TB PC Peripheral range?

I wasn't aware there was one until now, although it's been a while since I looked at their stuff. First impressions are they look reasonable and comfortable but I would have to try them first.

4. What do you dislike about the TB PC Peripheral range?

Pricing seems a bit on the high side on their site, also I'm worried there's a risk of lots of lights appearing on future products which I'm not a fan of (laser mouse front "vents")

5. Would you replace your current peripherals with TB PC Peripherals?

Possibly, I've had Logitech products for years but slowly my mx510/518 mice have all died and there's nothing I like at the lower price points (only paid £24 for a mouse in the past).

Tried Turtle Beach headset once with my PS4 lasted a month if that then they broke wont be using again, replaced with Astro A40s and they still going strong.
 
Used headets for both Xbox 360 and PC.

Sadly all of the 3 headsets I owned before had 1 problem in common. They ALL had power 'hum' through the headset when connected, like a continuous gain noise.

They used USB for power.

A friend of mine had the top wireless set for xbox 360 at the time, same issue.

For ref, I haven't bought a Turtle Beach product since.

2. What do you think of the TB range as a whole?
Nice to see the Grip 500 mouse using the Avago 9800 sensor - I've read positive things about this when picking the Corsair M65. Price seems nearly spot on, maybe £5-10 more than I'd like. The Grip 300 doesn't interest me, entry level sensor for not an entry level price in my opinion.

The Impact 700 / 500 offer brown and blue switches respectively but there's no options for customising or for selecting red switches. Deal breaker for me. I'd want red switches. Good to see a cheaper tenkeyless keycap option. Again the prices are in the region of something like the K70 / K65 but these have amazing reviews and I can't see an individual going for unknown when Corsair offer amazingly reviewed products for the same price (non-RGB version).

Decent range, specs largely in line with big name brands

4. What do you dislike about the TB PC Peripheral range?
For all TB products I've want to read reviews from the popular tech websites and Youtube reviewers so I can see the kit in the real world and understand what reviewers like / dislike. To be honest the pricing seems a little much for an unknown brand < no offence meant!

5. Would you replace your current peripherals with TB PC Peripherals?
Sorry, only just bought my keyboard and mouse!

Good piece of kit had the x11's for years used with my xbox360 now had the P12's for the PS4

Would probably upgrade my Razer headphones for a razer headset, i use TB more for consoles than PC.

Kone+ mouse, Microsoft sidewinder x4 keyboard, Logitech USB desk mic and Phillips headphones - I used the Corsair Vengeance headset until it broke...again.

2. What do you think of the TB range as a whole?

Mice - the range is....interesting. I'm not at all convinced by the red brake lights on the Grip 500 and have it down as a style over substance offering right now. I don't get why a mouse needs flashy lights like that.
The 300 looks cheap build quality (yes I appreciate the price point is low). it doesn't look like it would last very long.

Keyboards - they look more robust than the mice and the range is better placed for me - i'd likely look at the 500 as its about the right price. Though it does put them in competition with better known brands that have a track record.

Headsets - a majority of cheap looking headsets, all at the low end of the money but it looks like you get what you pay for. When we get up into the higher price ranges the products look much better quality (unsurprisingly) but still look a bit cheap to me - the Z60 look like its going to break pretty quickly.

3. What do you specifically like about the TB PC Peripheral range?

I think the keyboards are the best offering there for me. They look good and about the right price.

4. What do you dislike about the TB PC Peripheral range?

many of the products just look cheap - or have way too much in the way of flashing unnecessary bits (break lights on a mouse, branding plastered all over headsets etc)

5. Would you replace your current peripherals with TB PC Peripherals?

Maybe....TB are an unknown to me and I'd have concerns about jumping in and spending large amounts of cash on products that don't look like they'll last. I'd probably wait and see what other reviewers said before going for one.
 
Corsair k65, mionix avior 7000, hyperx cloud. Never owned turtle beach myself but I do know people that have and they have more than been happy with them.

No strong opinion, looks a bit budget compared to some of the competition, going for a style over substance approach. Probably works for the teenage demographic they are targeting

Pricing seems quite reasonable, especially the keyboards and mice

4. What do you dislike about the TB PC Peripheral range?
I'm not a fan of all the flashy lights and "gamer" styling. I've also been bitten by a poor quality product from TB before.

5. Would you replace your current peripherals with TB PC Peripherals?
NO, having previously owned their top of the line (at the time) xbox headset, which hummed and buzzed like a hive of bees, I wouldn't rush to replace anything. Any product that I did buy would need to be well proven and have a clear advantage over anything I currently own. I'm not going to be replacing anything on a whim or for the gamer styling

I had one of their headsets for the Xbox 360 ages ago. For the price there wasn't anything better!

PC peripherals; didn't know they made them. :p

Im personally put off by the over the top attempts to appeal to the masses. The gimicky headsets with star war, marvel characters and other stuff unrelated to the product just screams attention bandwagon whore and cheapens the products for me

They do seem to tick just about every box in their range usb yes got it, with and without mic options sure that too, stereo, wireless just about every combination you could hope for.

As said above it may be snobbery but the apparent need to appeal to the console call of duty style jerk makes me bypass their products completely. If they want to appeal to mid range gamers imo they need to ditch the "licensed products" garbage that adds to the price but lowers the quality. Also change some on the naming system, and fonts for example

What's stealthy about cans? I dont want them to be invisible I want them to be quality.

It just feels like your appealing to the gaming equivalent of the vtec kicked in yo type r boys. Sorry it just does nothing for your appearance

1) Microsoft multimedia keyboard and comfort Optical mouse. Sennheiser HD515 headphones.

2) You seem to have a lot movie and game tie-ins which doesn't appeal to me. You also seem to have you a diverse product range, which maybe a good or bad thing but since I've had no experience or TB products it's hard for me to comment.

3) The range of products, if you fan of TB products you could potentially get TB branded accessories for all your needs

4) The game and movie tie-ins cheapen your brand IMO, I like clean lines and high products that screen high quality. Maybe I'm the wrong sort of buyer for you but sticking a Spiderman sticker on headphone panel instantly makes the product less appealing to me. Also get some products out to reviewers like OC3D or Linus or someone I want to know what's good and bad about them, all I've seen online is a handful of vague negative comments on various tech news sites.

Infact getting reviews posted online is probably the best thing you can do to really accelerate business. If I don't see reviews I'll automatically you don't believe in your products will stand up to scrutiny or your trying to hide something from consumers.

5) Get some reviews done on credible review sites then I'll consider buying but right now TB products are a no go.

Same problem here when i owned there top wireless version on the 360.
Don't use any TB atm and don't think i would switch to them unless they were quality products and at a good price and sadly clicking the link there not a good price compared to well known/liked brands.
 
Wife uses the Turtle Beach X12 Headset and loves it.

Says its extremely comfortable for long periods of time.

Yes it was a bit pricey compared to other brands etc but unfortunately it was a emergency purchase as her Gamecon headset packed up and we needed a replacement that day so had to buy it locally.
