I have turtle beach x12s for my pc and on my new pc they seem to have like a background static, i can only hear it when theres no sound, otherwise it is un noticable. it starts when windows finished the starting windows bit and the strange thing is it is only on this pc and not on my other pc so its not the headset it has to be the computer anyone else experience this

Can be a common problem, interference when using USB audio device. Are you using a front USB socket or one directly on the motherboard?

Someone has mentioned in other thread that removing any front case USB sockets may help, as this can create a ground loop. If you use then and need them to be connected, then you might need to try a separate USB power source.

Does the X12 use USB for power and 3.5mm jack for audio? or does it use USB for audio as well?

The X12's use USB to power the integrated headphone amp, and there are 2 x 3.5mm jacks for audio and mic.

Friend has same problem on PC and was not able to resolve it. I have same problem on Xbox 360 when I had the X12's and DSS2 decoder. Tried powering from pc, powered usb hub, laptop (battery and mains), 500ma and 1000ma usb chargers plugs, tv's usb ports, monitors usb ports Hiss would not go away. Brought it to friend house. Same story. So not a ground loop.

Turtle Beach support told me it's the integrated headphone amp and is normal. Though my friend's hissing was no where near as bad as mine. In the end I just stopped using them. I also had the X42 wireless headphones and they hissed too when I plugged in the usb connection. All Turtle Beach headphones which are usb powered seem to have hiss, though you can get lucky and get one which has very little hiss. Forums are full of people complaining about this.

plus it seems to be linked somehow to my mouse like if i click a page on chrome or scroll with the mouse wheel it seems to...dim slightly dunno its wierd and like i can remove my mouse from the computer and the moise remains it seems like a usb power sort of thing
