TV Overheating?

When I turn the TV on in our main room, the picture lasts for about 5 seconds then goes black and stays black but still maintains sound. Anyone got any ideas? The TV in question is a Goodmans 19inch HD TV.

I doubt it's over heating after 5 seconds. lol

Send it back, you should have never bought Goodmans.

Definitley a hardware fault, not overheating,

Sounds like the back light has gone.

What sources does it do it on? built in freeview? scart connected source?

if using an external source, try different sockets/cables to see if it solves the problem, or the external device with another screen if possible.

If it's doing it on everything, it sounds like the tv is faulty.

Overheating can make digital tv tech underperform so check if too close to radiator or sunlight when it happens.

Try to avoid the cheapest brands if possible.
