I have a 28" widescreen Sony TV. Model# KV-28HX15U and I just cannot seem to figure out what resolution I should have it set to when hooked up to my computer.

Does anyone know? I imagine all 28" widescreens should be the same? Maybe?

When I set a custom resolution to that, the screen doesn't change.

Is it possible to give each screen it's own resolution?

My girl and I just wanted to watch some movies on the TV. A 20" monitor just isn't big enough.

What do you mean with "the screen doesn't change"
If you have a TV and monitor connected to your computer, set monitor as primary, native resolution. TV as secondary, 720x576 @ 60hz, 32 bit. Use Media Centre or Media Portal with latest SVN build, open up the HTPC front end onto secondary. Configure directories to access video/music files.

It just doesn't give me that option.

In the nvidia control panel, under setup multiple displays, regardless of the 'nview' I choose, it just says...

Select the displays you would like to use:
Dell 2007 + TV
TV + Dell 2007

Select the display you want windows to use as a primary:
Dell 2007 (greyed out)

If I choose one of the above to get the display on two screens, (the resolution defaults to 1280x1024 on my monitor and 1024x768 for the tv) ... then if I go into manage custom resolutions and click on TV and put in 720x576 and test... nothing happens, the screen stays at the default. If I put in 960x540 it does change and gets pretty close. but even if I tell it not to revert, it does.

Sorry to sound like a dumbass, it's just a little frusterating.
