I seem to recall something like this being advertised, though I thought it was shown on sky one and possibly only got one season. Would have been around 95/96

Vague memories of a man in a suit and sunglasses and the show was named after a person's name

I had a 5 minute Google, and couldn't find it though.

Not Millennium with Lance Henriksen is it? Although not directly about the devil, has a lot of references to a devil like character throughout.
