Why doesn't it suprise me that you like those programmes Angus...
"MUST HARVEST MORE DATA IN ORDER TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!" *BEEP*
Here is what I watch and recommend to anyone.
24 - 10/10 Hands down
Lost - 10/10
Prision break 10/10
Weeds 7/10
Stargate Atantis 7/10
Alias 10/10
Kyle XY 9/10
Las vegas 8/10
Heros 8/10
NCIS 9/10
They are all great shows 24 is my favourite. But alias comes very close as its got a real nice story and none of the episodes disappointed me. Then you have lost and prision break both great shows. Weeds is a good one to watch a bit boring latley. Kyle XY is very good few episodes have been boring but over all its good.

I like to watch them aswell. Flick between discovery and national geo for megabuilders and that.

I do also occasionally watch that programme. (However I do not necessarily watch television all that much).

no, because they canned it after 1 season, was really getting into it, was pretty good
For a self contained mini series (with everything resolved) then Daybreak was very good.
Jericho was also another good one, which after some SERIOUS campaigning by the fans got it brought back for more episodes (and quite rightly too)
I am hoping that the new series of 24 will be better than the last, which was somewhat lacking compared to the earlier series.
If you want a bit of a giggle and are prepared not to take it seriously then I am currently watching the new series of Flash Gordon, which is actually quite enjoyable.

There's LOADS of great shows out, unfortunately most get canned when it starts to get good (Drive, Traveler, Raines to name a few). Apart from the obvious choices of 24, Heroes, Lost, CSI, etc, a few that I'd recommend are:
The Unit - Brilliant show, has Pres. Palmer from 24 in as the main character, all about special service guys and their wives.
Dexter - My fave! - A serial killer whose day job is working for the Miami PD as a blood-splatter analyst.
Californication - Sex in the City for us blokes! Hillarious and VERY adult entertainment with David Duchovney, laughs are guaranteed (as is every swear word known and lots of boobies and bum)
Supernaturel - Brilliant series!
And two to look out for are: Chuck (bloke who reads a subliminal email and gets every government secret that America has) and Pushing Daises (series about a bloke who can bring people back to life if he touches them once. If he touches them again, they die for good, if he doesn't touch them someone nearby dies in their place!)
