I've been out of the loop on the latest TV's and what they can do for a while. I've googled the above title but it just comes up with all kinds of crap.

So, What I'd like is a TV with freesat built in and the facility of recording all my programs, pause, rewind etc. 50-60 inch. Does anyone make such a thing?

It would be much neater to have it all in one, especially if I'm going to wall mount the TV.

Ah many thanks. Looks like a nice one.

Just to confirm the satallite dish cables with just attach straight into the TV?

TVs with built-in hard disc recorders have never been that popular. The idea is nicein theory, but scratch below the surface and it reveals too many compromises for mass market adoption. A separate TV and recorder have always been a lower cost and more flexible option. As a result it has become a feature that is found only on top-of-the-range sets or in specialist brands - Loewe, B&O for example... so you pay through the nose for the convenience.

Recording via the USB socket has become popular though. I'd suggest you have a look at Freesat equipped sets that can do PVR functions on to USB-connected storage.

Samsung's new D8000 sets fit the bill. There's a 55" set (UE55D8000YUXXU) for £2,500 There may be cheaper options around.

the Panasonic GT30 can do it too.

Currently waiting for the VT30 to come out before deciding between that and the D8000 :D
