The title was a bit deceiving but I don’t know where else to post this.

Basically i brought a 9800GX2 from overclockers just over a year ago, it decided to die on me about a week ago but its 2 months out of overclockers warranty while having 1 year warranty left with TwinTech.

My post is to ask help from the overclockers community on how the hell i RMA it back to TwinTech, I’ve looked all over there web site and cannot find any RMA details or any contact details for these people

I'm pretty disappointed with overclockers to as i rang them for support even to try help me RMA my 300 pound door stop back to TwinTech but they said they didn’t have any information which is just so wrong..

I don’t think I’m allowed to link the TwinTech site? but its not to hard to find.. if another user can point out I’m being a complete noob and I’m ment to go (here) please tell me because u will save this noob 300 pounds..

Hope someone can help me soon

PS: I’ve learnt by this mistake.. Never ever buy weak branded products, I should have gone with BFG or EVGA as there RMA Owns..

Well, apparently their RMA centre is in Tours, France.

Finding some contact information though is proving difficult...

EDIT - From what i'm reading it sounds like TwinTech expect you to send the card back to the shop for replacement/repair, then they send a new card to the shop from their warehouse in France.

From Guru3d:

Twintech has a service center in France to provide RMA services for their distributors. In the case of a defective card, the end-user can return the goods to the shop for replacement or repair.

Not saying thats the official stance, but from what very very limited information there is floating about out there that seems to be what they are saying.

TBH though having NO contact information what so ever on their website is pretty damn shocking :|

Yes i totaly agree no contact information is very shocking.. ive been ripping my hair out trust me :(

I feel as tho im going to still be stung on this one but i cant not try RMA it.

i just found this on some french info site update-informatique

Now to learn French! or err translate it..

Teléphone: 0 825 047 947
Site internet:
Procédure de retour:
Garantie Traxdata. Echange gratuit et rapide assuré directement Par traxdata. RMA par téléphone ou sur

i removed the links for incase reasons.

The site they are refering to links to a 404 error page.. but the number does work after adding the international dialing code but there support line seems to be closed.. Typical!

I will wait till tomorrow morning and call them again and find out what the score is on RMA for my card.. then i will call overclockers and see what they say.

Again thanks for the help peeps another step closer :)

Bit concerning that there's this thread aswell as this one and my one about failing 9800GX2's on the first two pages! (And they weren't cheap!)

My understanding is that we bought them from Overclockers as Overclockers own so it's Overclockers who handle all the warranty stuff.... the product description never mentioned who actually made them.

The product description on the Overclockers website said:
OcUK has pretty much the best price going now on NVIDIA's 9800 GX2 graphics card and we have product in stock:-

Price: £287.99+VAT (£338.39 inc VAT)

And in a forum post at the time Gibbo said
They are TwinTech brand, full retail packaged with all cables and 2yr warranty supplied by OcUK!

The cards are NV reference design and built by NVIDIA/Flextronics.

Seems pretty clear to me....

Omg i was told on the phone it was 1 year warranty with overclockers..

Because i could not find this i could not tell if i was wrong or not..

Im shocked!

Well there's your answer then, get on the phone and point them to that.

Clearly says 2yrs with OCUK on there.

Ok I just found the article posted by Gibbo.. I’m so angry I was lied to on the phone just 2 days ago by overclockers support when here in black and white it states 2 years warranty!

(Hehe i best edit that rant out)

Ahh I’m in Queue position 3! and armed with Gibbos post..

Nice one guys cheers.

Sorted!

They are sending me RMA details Via email.

Thanks to the OcUK Forum Community or Hex Wis and West :)

Good good :)

Did they give any indication on the turn around time for it?

Still seems quite odd to me that there's 3 threads in the last 2 days about failing OcUK 9800GX2's

Just had a look at the other posts about there dead 9800GX2s.

Mine doesn’t post anymore, I came home from work turned on my PC and nothing :/ I was getting a bios error beep which wasn’t normal, i tested the card in my slave pc with the same PSU as my main PC Corsair TX750w but still the same problem.

I'm really unsure what’s happened but thinking about it I recon my card was on its way out as since I’ve installed my old 8800GTX my pc is allot smoother, alt tabbing from games is so much faster even loading programs and general stability.

I bought 2 of these OCUK 'twintech' 9800 GX2s off overclockers also.
Now 1 Failed about 4 days ago, I rang them and they fobbed me off with 1yr but then I saw this post. I rang again and they said I would recieve an RMA email - which hasn't arrived. I Also sent them a webnote asking for the RMA and it looks like they are ignoring me. What should I do, I spent a lot of money over the years with OC and I dont like this sort of customer service.

Can the person who had the RMA tell us the outcome - did they have another one sent back (was it new/ a refurb/ or different card). As they dont sell 9800GX2s anymore

Stuart..

Sorry to hear about this, not wanting to diss oc anymore than I have but this seems to be common practice when they don’t want to help, instead just flob people off.. its like the sales team gets a bonus if they don’t RMA your stuff.. but that cant be right and if it isn’t right which it should not be then why is it so hard for the sales team to RMA our products?

Really tho does it effect your job that much you feel you have to treat us like outlaws?

I disgusted...

OK back to the question you asked..

I'm still waiting on my RMA, OC received my card on the 25/06/09 then on the 02/07/09 I was told by oc that they have sent off my card for replace or repair to TwinTech which they have a Depo in France. this was almost 3 weeks ago, I’m going to give them 1 more week then I will ask where my card is.

From what I have read I cant see myself getting a 9800Gx2 a lot of company’s just give people a GTX260 card instead as a replacement.. this would also **** me off, id much prefer a refund and put 30 quid on top to get me a GTX295!

Don’t give me a bloody GTX260 pleasezor!

Ok so I haven’t really helped you at all with my reply.. All I can say is keep hassling them and more if you have to.

I will update this when I know more on my RMA.
