Hi chaps,

I occassionally post my twitch link on the discord channel when im streaming, but I might as well pop on the forums to get some promo.
If anyone is interested in watching some PUBG, mostly with the gents on this very forum - then pop in and say hello.

http://twitch.tv/griimlocktv

I'm not looking to make money from doing this, but I'm just seeing where this twitch streaming leads to, even if it's just for a bit of extra socializing while I game.
I'm more than happy to take on any tips/suggestions during game from twitch chat to increase my gaming experience.
If anyone is waiting in discord and we've already started a round, some of you hot-drop in the meantime, but alternatively - click on the link to watch.

Appreciate all the follows too, my next milestone is to get to 50 followers (14 so far).

I know some others on here stream too, might be worth sticking up a sticky in the gaming section, to give us all somewhere to check, rather than just browsing through the twitch list.

Another few people who streams from here are:

Ah thanks for including me in your post mate :) really appreciate it

Do really enjoy streaming, even if most of the time I have 2 viewers :p. Really enjoy tinkering with streamlabs, and I figure I'm playing the games anyway, may as well stream it

yeah was talking about this on Discord yesterday. for small starting streamers really is a important thing to help get people watching.we have youtube links not much on twitch.

I like the idea of streaming but i struggle to think of things to say when you have no viewers to interact with since i get into the game too much and forget i'm streaming. Must be so boring to watch :D

I stream, fairly often. I have next to no viewers though :D

But I enjoy it, when on the occasion I have viewer interaction, it's cool, I've never been one to be shy to talk to someone :)

Hardest thing is getting the viewers to you, especially when you're playing something like PUBG where there are already hundreds of streamers, and you're at the bottom of the list with no viewers. I can see why people buy bot viewers just to get some genuine viewers attention

I've enjoyed talking to a few people via stream when they come in, if you can get used to talking to someone and them replying via chat, then it's cool. As for talking when there are 0 viewers, I actually don't mind that, and if anything it helps me with the game as it keeps me alert and having to think about stuff more than if I wasn't streaming and mentally switched off

We already have a twitch thread here https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...ant-information-in-the-opening-post.18644796/

There are also specific rules with regards to linking twitch (swearing, non family friendly content etc), its worth reading that before linking any twitch urls :)

Why the donate button then? You should only put one then when your viewers ask for it imo. Viewers can still cheer and sub even without one.

I think there are two ways to become a successful streamer. Either be one of the best at a game or have a lot of charm and personality. There are streams of pro gamers with tens of thousands of viewers and they don't even have a camera, just skill. I personally avoid streams with low viewers unless its a friend messing around. Most of the low viewer streams are of poor quality, sometimes creepy or just plain sad for example with x amount to pay rent donation bars. If you are streaming to have fun with friends you're better off doing it through steam imo.

I've seen quite a few streamers where they are genuinely funny, decent production value to their streams and are fairly good at the game they are playing, yet still sat at around 20-30 viewers because they just haven't had that bit of luck to get people noticing their stream. On the flipside, as you say, I've seen some really really dull streams, no cam, no kind of alerts or overlay, just the game playing and a lot of the time with awful music playing over the top, and they have thousands of viewers. The mind boggles

No worries dude!

I enjoy the streaming side of it - more than just being a successful streamer (assuming successful means +£££).

It's a difficult grind, I tend to have roughly, a 4hr schedule after work and double that on weekends. I play with the guys here, so people in this forum can relate a little to it.
As you mention though, some people have skills, some have personality. I guess I'm a decent player, so there are some skills to watch with over 600hrs in the game.
The personality though, that's a difficult one. Unless there's some chat, I don't expect to be talking too much (I still do) unless there's someone to relate to, I keep an eye on the view count with the iPad and watch chat regularly.
I guess the personality comes out more once you reach 5+ regular watchers, as you've got people to keep entertained.

Either way, I'm looking forward to stream my sessions nightly for a couple of months, hopefully you enjoy if you take a peak. :)

I managed to get Affiliate the other month, but stopped shortly after, really need to get back into it, For that partnership milestone :D

Unless your going the 'twitch thot' route facecam isn't really required if you've got the personality to work without one, take Lirik never used a facecam and still has 10k+ most days.

Twitch is like Youtube now unless you hit a niche or somehow a pro at a certain game getting viewers is down to luck more than anything.

The only streams that I've seen doing that with thousands of viewers are of pro gamers.

Some of the mouse hand streams can be funny.

Thats a good point actually, I've seen some of the fps guys have a cam of their mouse/keyb hand while they game. I'll add that to my stream since I have a spare cam. :)

Some sim racers has 3 cams. Face/shoulders/wheel. One viewing their feet/pedals and the stick.

I agree too many completely destroy their stream by overlaying with way too much, but they get the views and their viewers I guess like/don't mind it.

Not for me but that's the beauty of twitch, every style of gamer that you can find your preference and ignore the other streamers you don't like the style of
