I don't get you? I don't even use twitter, I'm just pointing fun at the people who do and think everyone is interested in what they're doing every 5 minutes.

Precisely. You haven't even got a clue what you're making fun of.

Just because you and your friends have such boring lives that all you can think of to write is 'I just ate lunch' doesn't mean everyone else is the same or that the service is useless. You get out of twitter what you put in.

This.

Gotta love the Twitter hate threads on OcUK GD. Nothing beats a good dose of ignorance.

That's neither what twitter is for, nor why people use it.

I can only suspect you of deliberately misunderstanding what twitter is, it's not really that complicated. And for that reason, I'm out.

*raaaaaaaage!* Twitter isn't meant for posting what you are doing all the time, it's a micro-blogging site.. you know, for blogging in short.

It's not a status update site and everyone has to stop seeing it as one. >_<

That's exactly the point - what if someone wanted JUST to see the updates without being told that x is now a friend of y and that z has just score 100,000 on bejewled?

It's fine that people don't understand it - it makes up for all the years of me not understanding things such as facebook/faceparty/myspace/etc.

:)

You can customise your feed to show as little or as much as you want. You can view just status updates if that's your thing. I completely understand what they are trying to do but it's awful for your average person. Which is why blogs were hardly successful unless it followed a famous person. I think it's great being able to keep your friends updated, I do it a lot on facebook especially when i'm travelling, the best part is I can easily integrate albums and what not in an excellent user friendly environment. Where are you going to put up your albums on twitter?

I don't like blogs either, I think I have encountered only 2 blogs over the past decade of internet use that I actually thought worthwhile. People just aren't as interesting as they think they are.

Twitter hate is also fuelled by the unrelenting in-your-face of it all, people are forever harping on about it.

Twitter is just a pointless website to be honest, when considering Facebook was already about.

It is basically just Facebook, but with much less functionality
