Think of it as a live news feed. It is extremely useful and underrated

I made one after the elections for this reason and found it to work very well. Previously used google latest feature to get near real time updates to events.

I have an account, but rarely post anything to it. It is however incredibly powerful for coverage of current events. I like it for that.

I find it a bit restrictive, I know the point is to make "Tweets" (urgghh) short and sweet but I find anything I want to say usually takes up more than the 140 characters it allows. Decent for news as it can just provide straight links but for use between friends as an alternative to E-Mail or texts I think it's pants. 140 characters between friends is not enough, resulting in a lot of very unimaginative "OMG just went shopping lol " type "Tweets".

To sum up, I use it mainly for news and sport and that's about it.

I use it but don't like it. - go me I think its a load of tosh, but so many useful things plug into it instead of something sensible like RSS or e-mail. Plus I sometimes have to use it for work research...

I do have a twitter account but I only use it to follow other people/companies to find out interesting news etc before it hits news website and the like. I never intend to "tweet" myself.

I've thought about creating a Twitter account, but only so I can be a complete idiot on it. Updating the feed every couple of minutes with random nonsense is a somewhat tempting idea, I just don't know if I can be bothered.

Think of it as a live news feed. It is extremely useful and underrated - I don't have an account personally but I still browse when something big happens, like a disaster.

Sums up my thoughts really, I rarely tweet but I use it more of an RSS feed into whats going on.
