Does anyone use Twitter?

I've just registered myself on there now and am having a play.

Seems quite confusing at the moment.

Oh god no, it took people years to convince me to use Facebook, which I still hate...

I'm addicted to Facebook, that's probably why I'll end up getting on with Twitter eventually.

Only to follow people. I don't have anything worth broadcasting.

Tweetdeck is a cool desktop client.

I can't believe they ever managed to legally set something like this up....

Allows you to basically stalk celebrities and in some cases direct message them.

It's hardly stalking when the person chooses to broadcast all their updates!

Personally I think twitter is an utterly fantastic idea.
It means that eventually all the useless, senseless, pointless irritating dross that would normally end up on forums/other websites I normally visit, is collected in one place I can easily ignore.

That's one way of looking at it I guess.

I just don't understand the facination. I flick onto a couple of famous people's occasionally as some people announce things on there before they really spread around (trent reznor), but I don't see what normal folk have to gain from the thing...

It's quite cool to see what celebs are up to, but normal people I can understand are not very interesting.

Tony Hawks keeps giving away stuff on Twitter. Quite cool, he posts where he's left something. Normally a skateboard/skate gear and then posts once somebody has "Tweeted" that they got it.
