Twitter?

I follow mostly f1 teams, drivers and the like plus the odd movie person for news and updates.
Try it with Flipboard, it's brilliant!

You may get people reporting it though thats the problem.

What platform are you running it off?
How does it detect it when someone says a lot?

I am running it off my home server which is ubuntu, all it does is search for the word "a lot". Then reply to them. I just modified this. Also I don't think it qualifies for spam, it's just correcting people that make a common mistake :p.

I use it everyday now I found Tweetdeck. It's useful for keeping up with news/info about products/services and chatting about anything you like. I post mostly rubbish. :D

Got an account but barely use it, heard Wayne Rooney is worth a cheap chortle by following, and for a Scouser he tweets in Mancunian.

Found out today that the press are allowed to use twitter in court rooms even on their phones due to the supreme court/a supreme court judge ruling it ok to do so. Anyone else needs permission from the court room judge though.

Phones in a courtroom? And Also press in a courtroom? I thought that both were not allowed

I'm on there. Initially, I didn't get the point of Twitter at first, but once you've got a good subscription going, it's actually quite useful and interesting. The best thing is being able to tweet people you'd never normally get a response from and hear back. I usually tweet stuff to amuse myself and pass the time. If you want to subscribe, let me know you're from here and I'll follow back providing you don't go on about reality TV.

The press are allowed in a courtroom, but they're not allowed to film or report from within the court room.

The tweeting thing is, i think, only tweets unrelated to the court case.

I think I'm following you. :)

I'm on there too. Like Nix says, it's great for following interesting celebs (and lesser known people in industries you have a hankering for).

I'm not a social media type... if I have anything to share with the folk I care about I just tell them directly. But I have, somewhat reluctantly, started using Twitter and have found it rather interesting.

Not particularly useful, yet, but it has the potential to be. The trick is filtering out all the people who might have been useful to keep an eye on, but turn out to be as chatty as teenage girls. I've had a few surprises from people who ought to know better.

I only use it on my PC though. So far I haven't found anyone useful enough to justify chasing down a phone app.

I'm on there (see sig) and am much more active on there than FB any day. Mainly about things I'm interested in; food, talking crap, sometimes bitching about work :P

I follow, what I would say, are some really interesting people!

I've used it for a while, I tend to spend more time on twitter than I do on facebook. I find it fairly useful to find out what's going on far before news or other sources.

I use Facebook to socialize, and twitter to tweet my opinions when at conferences (normally there are big TVs everywhere with peoples opinions are on certain lectures and what is going on in certain rooms. Its a nice way to help each other out telling them what's good and what's not)

Best iPhone twitter client is pretty much Tweetbot. Twitter have made a complete UI balls up with their own client lately.

I use it to chat to friends, developers and to find out what is going on in my area. I have saved searches for various town names around me so I can see tweets that mention those - handy for traffic updates etc. It's a very powerful tool when used properly.

As for whom to follow, it's more or less personal to your preferences. Twitter has been pretty much hammered with teenyboppers over the past year or so, so the trending topics are a complete mess - mainly due to that llama bieber clown and his army of equally llama'ish fans.

Yep I use it to follow 30 or so people, and tweet myself on occasion. As others have said it is a good way to kep track of things or people you are interested in, and maybe learn something along the way too.
