hi all, december 07 i purchase windows xp and a hdd to put it on, however last week i purchased another hdd and vista premium 32, now that i have vista i love it to bits and am not going back...my question is (bearing in mind im quite a newbie to system building and os,s) but can i make use of that extra drive and maybe put vista on it and use it for slave or storage or whatever, if so how do i get round it....thnx all:confused:

Is the extra drive plugged in? If so, right click on it in "My Computer" and click format, do a quick format and you can use it as a storage drive.

you can then change the location of documents, onto the drive.

open up drive in a window, make a folder called users document, make anther with your user name, open up documents in another widow, cut all the folders and past them into this new folder.

now your user files are on another drive, so if you have to reinstall vista your sorted.
