Two external monitors

So I've got a 2011 MacBook pro and I currently use its own screen + one external monitor. I also have another external monitor sitting unused, I would like to connect this as well but there is a lack of thunderbird ports.

I've seen USB adapters like the Diamond BVU195 but is there anything cheaper around to achieve this?

I think you will need the Matrox DualHead2Go DP edition for that.

I got a usb to vga adapter for work... not that impressed with it to be honest as it does lag and crash, about 4 times in 3 weeks I had it. Thou the manufacture of the device says it shouldn't work, the manufacture of the chip as drivers for it.

Some of them say they will work but won't supply the screen resolution I wanted.

From what I seen of the Matrox one they are even worst as they treat both monitors as one whole display.
