two hds one seen

i've just done a new build with the following,

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H
E8200
OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum
and 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 160GB SATA-II 8MB Cache

when i go into My Computer on XP it only shows one drive but in the BIOS, speed fan and the device manager they both show up and the device manager says that they are both running ok,

any ideas were my drive is?

also i tried to set these up in RAID1 but the driver wouldn't install at the F6 point on the XP install, this was after i downloaded the up to date one!

Has xp initliased it yet?

Open the Disk Management console by going to Start, right-clicking My Computer, and selecting Manage.

Iinitliase it first then format it from there.

RAID 1 is mirroring, so you only see 1 drive of specified capacity (so 2 x 250GB HDD in RAID 1 is shown as 250GB RAID volume. Not sure why XP would fail to install driver for that.

been into manage on My Computer and formatted it and i mow have both discs showing and accesssable,

just to try the RAID set up again now

Are you trying to RAID them via disk management in WinXP, or via the BIOS controller ?

i set it up via the stuff in the BIOS and tried to use a floppy at the F6 point on my XP install.

and i tried the driver from the gigabyte web site but every time i tried it it came up with txtsetup.oem unavailable and stopped!
