Hi :)

Im trying to get two pc's onto the net but im getting stuck, I have a router with two pc's and an htpc hooked up in the front room and one ethernet cable going into a bedroom for one pc. That works fine n dandy but I want another machine chained off that one using the old cross-over cable routine. So I bought another network card and thought it would take a matter of minutes to get them sharing the web, im either thick or not having much luck lol

I chose these ip numbers from day one as they work:

ip range for each machine: 10.0.0.XX
subnet: 255.0.0.0
dns: 10.0.0.x (thats the router)

so the machine in the bedroom is on 10.0.0.31
All im trying to do is get another pc hooked in so it shares files and has web access, I can get file sharing and drives to appear in the network neighbourhood but thats it... if I keep messing about both machines will just kick off and not see the network at all, if I turn on internet sharing then it does the same again and stops working. I cant even get bridging to work?

EDIT: both pc's in the bedroom have on-board lan

:(

After setting the ICS on the PC with 2 network cards one card will have the address 10.0.0.x and the other card will have 192.168.x.x. The other PC will then be 192.168.x.x and get it's IP settings via DHCP from the PC with 2 cards in.

It's default gateway should be the 192.168.x.x address of the first PC.
Leave all the IP settings on "automatic".
