The two Maxtor 6Y080M0 drives are using RAID. The operating system is XP Professional. My old Gigabyte motherboard detected the drives no problem. I provided the nForce drivers and the drives were picked up as one drive.

I have since moved to a DFI Lanparty SLI-D nForce 4 motherboard. The two drives were picked up by XP no problem. I installed the RAID drivers and now the two drives have vanished! Device manager and Disk Management under Administrative tools can not see the two drives. Strangely, "Safely Remove Hardware" shows the two hard drives with a SCSI symbol next to each.

What am I missing here?!?

Ok let me clarify.

Before changing the motherboard, XP was showing the array as one drive (E).

Now that I have changed the motherboard and rebuilt the O/S (I use a differen't hard drive for booting) XP cannot find the array. It can't even find the the drives in Device manager or Disk Management, after installing the nForce storage drivers.

The only difference is the new motherboard and a new rebuild of XP. It is as if the drives aren't plugged in. But they are. Windows XP did see them at first. As two seperate drives. It asked for some drivers, like it did before when I first created the array on the old motherboard, then I rebooted. After the reboot, it can't see the drives anymore but the "Safely Remove Hardware" screen reports the two drives as connected.
