Two monitor query

Hi,

Quick question, until I finish my home theater I'm running my TV HDMI and my monitor off it but they are in separate rooms, this presents a bit of a problem I can't see the other screen but the default is dual screen in either direction, how can I get the PC to output just a copy of the desktop not dual screen?

Also when the HDMI is plugged in the sound cuts out from the PC again not great for the moment and perfect when they are in the same room.

for the sound thing, rightclick on the speaker icon thats by the clock in the taskbar, click playback devices, and disable or remove everything but the output your actully using.

for displays, right click on desktop >screen res, then there should be a multiple display setting, thats probably on extend right now, change that to duplicate
