Two Network Card in One Machine Problem

I have one network card connected to my router which provides Internet, the other is connected via a crossover to an XBOX, I can access both at the same time without disabling one adapter. Both are on the same subnet, is this the problem?
 
I don't want the XBOX connecting to the Internet through the PC but to access the XBOX via the PC.
 
That should have been can't.

The reason was there was a gateway ip specified on the nic that's crossed over, removed that and its fine now.
