two questions on the new intel quad cores

hi,

can anyone tell me what memory and motherboard type the new intel quad core cpu's will require? Im a bit out of touch with hardware upgrades tbh.

The other thing is, with a 8800 gts in the same box, what is the minimum PSU I should be looking for?

How can I make this system run whisper quiet - my current pc has 8 fans on it and its just completely overkill / doing my head in.

PC6400 and one of the Intel P35 based boards are what you need.

And you need to be looking at a minimum of a quality 520w PSU.

You might be better looking at a new case. Most of the modern ones only need a couple of 120mm fans to provide good cooling.

You could also use a 965 or 975 chipset based board. And there are a lot more options with the RAM aswell. Will you be overclocking or keeping it at stock mate?
