Hey guys i have a couple of questions for you as im not 100% sure of the answers to these.

Im using on board audio on a gigabyte gaming 5 that uses "Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi MB3" I am plugging my atomic floyd super darts into the main audio port on this mobo, im getting a strange crackle that i didn't used to get from my old motherboard ( not sure of make/model just that it was asus and ran a AMD chip) Do i need to buy something to help solve this.

I can run my earphones through my microphone however that's there to give a playback of your mic for testing quality ect but does play whatever sound should be playing through the system, however i don't want to hear myself moving around whilst watching something.

All of this said another thing on top is every night i swap my headphone jack in the back of the pc to my monitor jack to allow me to watch films/tv through the speakers.

Is there any device that i can get externally that i can plug BOTH my earphones and monitor into - remove the crackling sound from the earphones and be able to easily swap between audio devices in the click of a button?? like a dac of some form maybe? Im not sure on this stuff hence my thread of jibberish!

Any help appreciated

Someone else has interference problems with a gaming 5 board. He has an MSI though, I believe. That also has an isolated section for audio to help reduce interference. Either something else is causing it, or this design is a complete gimmick.

What have you changed since you used the last board?

Do you use multiple graphics cards by any chance? The problem seems common with people who do run SLI or Crossfire.

Your best bet is probably an Asus Xonar U7 external sound card, which has all of the features of an internal sound card plus a convenient volume control knob.
