Hi all. My girlfriend has 16 gb of ddr4 3000mhz ram in her Asus b350f motherboard. The Asus manual says it can take up to 3200mhz ram.

My pc has 32gb team force 3200mhz ram so I’m thinking of putting my ram into her computer and me upgrading my ram. My motherboard is an Asus Strix z690a motherboard which can take 3600mhz ram.

Will my ram work in her motherboard ok? Is there a specific ram I should go for? There’s an 8 pack 32gb 3600 set on the store. Would that be an upgrade for me?

Thanks!

Unless your girlfriends pc needs more than 16gb of memory then theres really no point in upgrading.

The 3200mhz should work in hers but nothining is gauranteed and you moving to 3600mhz is fine but miniscule performance difference over 3200mhz.

8 pack memory is good but not worth the extra cost to performance imo.

id do what you said...
depending on the chip in her AMD board its not going to run passed 3200Mhz, you already have a kit at that speed.

your board on the other hand again depending on the chip the sky is the limit.

increasing amount of ram does always help - 32Gb is now common. Speedwise even faster sticks will do fine at lower rates not vice versa so no problem at all with even fitting 3600 into 3200 only capable system

Interesting. My motherboard is an Asus rog strix z690a and cpu is 12700k. I don’t have to just go for the 3600mhz for my pc then. I can maybe go as high as 4000?
