Hi there, basically in my house we have a BT line, which my family use, it’s to be honest, awfully slow unless you are just browsing the net, cant game on it whatsoever, usually just crashes. We also have a Virgin Media 20Mb line the one I use personally. At the moment the family printer is all hooked up to the BT Router. I was wondering if there is a way to connect the two hubs together so that my PC (which is wired that’s why i can’t get to the printer quickly) can connect to the printer. I have spare power line cables if that helps. Thanks

You'd need a local network bridge. Potentially can get a bit complicated. If your using a newer version of windows you might potentially be able to hook the power line adapters up and select both local networks in networking and bridge them like that, but can't really say without being there to play with it.

Job one, find out the I.P. address of the BT router.

Job two, have a look at the DHCP settings on the BT router. It's probably set to give up out addresses between x.x.x.2 and x.x.x.254. Change this upper limit is only 200, this gives you some addresses you can assign manually.

Job three, change the IP address of virgin router so first three bits are the same as the BT router and the last bit in the head you created on the BT router. Probably something like 192.168.1.201.

Job four, you might have to reboot your computer to reconnect to the virgin router. Disable DHCP on the virgin router.

Job five, link the routers togther.

Job six, change the default gateway and DNS server address on your computer so it's the same as the Virgin router.
