Two SSDs or One Bigger One ?

If I wanted around 500GB of SSD storage would it be better to fit two 250GB or one 500GB.

One 500 GB. Unless of course this data is at all precious or irreplaceable, in which case one 500 GB SSD plus an HDD for backups.

One will be better because 500GB Samsung 850 EVO cost £169.99 but buy 2x 250GB Samsung 850 EVO cost £179.98 cost nearly £10 more than a 500GB SSD.

SSD's don't fail that often but you are doubling your chances of a failure if you run 2. If the data is very important then consider a backup to a HDD as said above.

If you were thinking about RAIDing them for speed then save yourself some effort and get a PCIeSSD

one large ssd will also take up less sata ports,can always throw in another large ssd further down the line
