Going to need 2 new front tyres in the not to distant future.

Anyone recommend some makes or brands, currently shod in Pirelli PZero's 225/40 ZR18 (92Y)

How does "ZR18" differ from "R18"?

That's the spirit.

Bridgestone RE050A's are getting applause and can be had for sensible money now. Very stiff sidewall so turn-in heaven could be yours.

How much you wanna spend? If you're feeling flush you could splash out on Pilot Sport 2's or something like that.

Thanks for the quick response!

Not feeling too flush, Ideally liked to keep it under £250 for the 2 tyres fitted.

Do they have rim protectors? The alfa alloys are like cheese and I'm going to get them refurbed

All Potenza's overhang the rim slightly so there's some protection, but not much.

Yeah I have the RE040's and all 4 wheels are curbed (by the previous owner, honest:p)

"I" haven't :D

Let you off then.

Tyre guage, if its tread depth you mean then there is normally an wear indicator these days is there not. Pressure wise there are various Halfrauds ones etc... but in my experience they loos calibration very quickly. I have a proper garage compressor one that a friend "borrowed" from work for me hooked up to my compressor, which is great, think they are very expensive though.

Depth is what I'm after!

Anyone got an answer on this one?

Driving 30k miles a year in this car means that I'll be going through a lot of tyres.

I need a balance between grip (motorway 90% of the time), durability and cost!

Are the bridgestones still the ones for me or would something like the Falken 452's or Toyo Proxies be worthwhile?
