Tyre Pressure

42 is really high even for a crb600rr.
You'll find if you get a bit spirited in your riding in the summer that the tire pressure will be way too high by the time you tire is warm.

Id put 38 at most. more like 36 in a 600rr rear, same as I will do and always do or my sports bikes. 40 in winter mind you.

I respectfully think you are wrong :)

42 is recommended by the tyre and bike manufacturers, it's pretty much standard on every sports bike.

If anything, you'd have lower pressures in winter to generate more heat in the tyre as more rubber moving around = more heat.

Never had a single problem with any tyre on 42psi, even riding the past week it's quite happy.

Rear 40 is too much for me. Spot on sat bolt upright but took a more fun route to work today and as soon as you put any lean on the bike it was stepping out at the rear and skitting everywhere. Could be the crap wet roads but ill try dropping a few PSI and see what the score is

36/42 is quoted by the manufacturers all the time to cover their arses, it's a safe pressure for a full load (ie Pillion passenger etc). It's more like 32/36 for your bike for solo riding I would say.

+1

I lower the rear to 31 cold if it's a spirited ride. With the Bridgestone S20s pressure rises to 35-36 hot. Massive difference in grip when leant over.

Souleh I think I am running 35 or 36 rear psi currently on my Dunlops, dont think I have ever ran recommended pressures, far too high!

The only time I have ever questioned pressures was when I tried out Michelin Power One's, tyre guy recommended 19psi front... first half a lap felt a bit strange but after that they were brilliant!

Never ran michelins at the track but thats dunlop territory pressure for sure.

Dropped about 5psi from my rear so must be mid 30's odd and feels spot on. No slipper clutch is a good indicator of when the tyres have started to grip cause it takes nothing to make it edge out going down gears when theyre cold.
Busting to get back out on the track with some nice race rubber again
