So, one of our front tyres got a puncture and we're currently running on the spare. I'm going to take the tyre along to Kwik Fit and see if they can fix the puncture tomorrow, but I've got a couple of questions for if they can't...

If I have to replace one tyre, am I better replacing both so that they're not unevenly worn? Does this matter?

The car currently has Pirelli P7s on the front. If I'm replacing the tyres am I best to stay with these? Are they any good? Kwik Fit online says these will cost £87 each including fitting, which I can afford, but if I can get something as good or better for less then I'd prefer that.

The car is a Focus mk. 2 1.6 Zetec, if that makes any difference.

Kwik fit are not particularly great for buying tyres. If the puncture can't be fixed I would certainly get quotes elsewhere, tyres online, black circles etc.

As for replacing both, its better practice, however if the tyres you already have, are newish with very similar tread then maybe just do the one.

Before going to kwik-fit have a word with your local tyre places and see what they can recommend. Usually it works out a few quid cheaper to go with them rather than ordering off of the internet and finding someone to fit them.

Try event tyres they will come to you and fit the tyre. They are decent fitters too , no kwik fit monkeys
