Good morning all,

The gf's Honda Civic is in dire need of some new tyres (the current ones have been on the car for around 35k miles  )

It is running on steel rims sized 185/70/14 now I'll be damned if i can find any decent quality tyres to fit that size. In order to get any kind of 'known' brand, I think I have two options-

a) I replace the steel rims with some shiny 15" alloys, the problem here would be finding some genuine Honda rims before the service / MOT at beginning of next month

b) I go for a slightly smaller tyre profile, say 185/65/14 which at least allows me to fit some Pirelli P6000s.

This is only a 1.4 so super-sized wheels really aren't necessary but I don't know how much the ride height and speedo will be screwed up by fitting slightly small diameter tyres or even bigger alloys.

Any ideas?

Fit 60's or 65's wont make any noticeable difference really to the speedo or ride.
Otherwise an ebay wheel hunt with decent tyres fitted looks good!

Well according to RR its 4 x 100... seems quite generic though!

Whats the offset though?? a lot of alloys will fit/have the same stud pattern, but with the wrong offset they may need spacers to get it sitting in the arch with out catching.

As said above, you could always buy a lower profile tyre, 65 or 60's, and the difference will be unnoticable.
