Its a Clio grande 2001What car, and what width are the rims?
Rim width is usually in inches and not part of the tyre size. If you fit too wide a tyre for the rim width then the tyre doesn't sit correctly. Generally speaking one size increase in width is usually OK on narrower rims like yours then two might be pushing it. I'm not familiar with the Clio outside of passing my test in one back in the early 90s so can't be more specific.
The handbook should list recommended tyre sizes.
Btw it is a full wheel was just wondering if they would on a clio, its not putting a tyre on the rims. if this is what you mean?
If my car has 165/65/R14
Is it posible to fit 185/65/R14?
Just wondering if this is okay, car wont go mad at me will it :S
It's best to stick to the proper size really - I guess you've been offered a cheap set of tyres by someone?
Why would you want to go with the wider tyre? Is it for better handling?
Why not just try one on a rim and see how they sit and make your judgment from that.
See what the guy who fits the tyre thinks.
I could do and its from a mate, and its a full wheel not just fitting tyres just a wheel change..
I could try them and see how they fit, but i thought it might affect the handling of the car or something..
Well your speedo would need recalibrating for a start as the overall diameter and circumference will be bigger which means your speedo will be under reading by a fairly significant amount.
Give or take 5 MPH out wouldnt bother me in the slightest if the car handled better and looked better! but thats just me.
