Tyre squeal

Probably won't be much different to the grooved ones they have now tbh. AFAIK just about every other racing series use full slicks, god knows why they were banned in F1 which is supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsport.

They were trying to reduce cornering speeds, to supposedly make the racing safer and more competitive, they forgot though, that huge great wide slick tyres cause great anmounts of turbulence behind the car, which is great for slipstreaming and overtaking.

wasnt it too do with wet track conditions too?

no tread and hitting a body of water causes mahoosive aqua planning leading cars to end up it barriers! (what ppl watch the sport too see hehe)

as said the noise is vibration sound. i gess it will happen more on tyres with narrower gaps between the blocks of tread ?

happens more on smooth grippy surface.

Got Conti Sport 2s on my Passat and only squeal when from a standstill say at a turning or something when I have to boot it. Otherwise I havent really tried (nay, want to) push it to the limit in a tuen :o

I'd say a car with a smaller wheelbase is more likely to squeal in a corner.
