Tyre tread depth

Just a quick one hopefully.

My partner has a 07 Clio and on all 4 tyres the outside tread groove (there are 3) has worn down to nearly the little notch of the legal limit (1.7mm I think isn't it?) anyway, I thought it was odd it should be that way and thought it might be something up with the camber angle. Does that sound possible, would they make a car to deliberately have a positive camber angle? Or is it more likely that the tyres have somehow come out of proper alignment?

Also, and this is probably going to sound pretty silly but is it possible to have the tyres taken off and switched round so the deeper tread (currently on the inside of the tyre) on the outside or does the car need 4 new ones?

Thanks :)

Tyres can't get 'out of alignment' your suspension can though.

Take it to your garage and ask them for advice, if all 4 tyres are worn down a lot, they'll probably advise 4 new tyres and alignment.

Tyres will either be asymmetric or rotational.

Asymmetric = will say 'outside' on the outer edge of the tyre. These can't be rotated in the way you want, as the outside is always on the outside.

If they are rotational, then the tyres will have an arrow pointing which way the tyre should spin, these can be rotated in the way you want, but they'd have to take all 4 tyres off and refit and rebalance them on the wheels/alloys.
